a busy flower week

This week we have been so proud of the team who came to work with us on our busiest few days of the year - a fabulous group of local flower ladies who each brought her special skills and strengths and threw them into the mix to make the two weddings, christening, and other smaller orders a huge success!  It felt great to be part of such a team, thank you, Shropshire garden florists!  One of the two weddings was hosted at Stokesay Court - a rare event - with a beautiful East Coast style vibe in the huge marquee on the lawn below the house.  I took my life in my hands to balance precariously atop a far too high ladder, lassooing rope over a main beam from which to suspend four wonderful wild and grassy flower globes...  Jasmine twined up the tent poles, roses and peonies abounded, and the scent of sweet peas wafted about.  The bride was exquisitely beautiful, with a fairytale gown of luscious silk and a teeny tiny nipped in waist. Her bridesmaids skipped and flitted about in a rapture of delight as we brought them their flowers.  An army of waitresses polished glass, and as I finally drove away, after wiring the last flower crown of the day (for a baby girl to wear at her christening the following day), the music was starting to spill out over the rolling lawns.
