pompons and ribbon brights
Not sufficiently stretched by her energetic day job, growing vegetables and herbs for the Five Fields restaurant in London, last week's merry bride, Heather, had spent most of her evenings for the last year making fabulous jewel-bright decorations with which to enliven her wedding day. She and Jimmy, a chef, celebrated their wedding feast under a canopy of brilliant ribbons, draped from two excellently eccentric chandeliers in the centre of thr marquee, which Heather had created with woolly pompons and many more rainbow ribbons. Oustide, in a sunny field with sweeping views over the rolling Herefordshire countryside, two simple arches framed the spot where they couple were to say their vows, looped and dancing with yet more ribbons. We very much enjoyed adding to the sense of occassion with boisterous late summer flowers in as bright a palette as we could muster. Even the bride's bouquet contained pompons!
